The Brick Testament

This is a very intersting site....The Brick Testament

It's got a whole bunch of biblical scenes played out with legos. Check it out...

The last supper....Leonardo Da Vinci would be proud

Not quite sure how I feel about this...it's somewhat sacriligous, somewhat instructional, and somewhat just plain weird.

The State of the Union: My analysis

Well..I just saw the state of the union address, and I must say, it was quite interesting. He really drew a line in the sand here with the democrats...he wants to make the tax cut permanent, renew the patriot act, and even discussed his potential support for a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. It was certainly an election year speech. One particular interesting thing was the fact that he kept talking about all these new spending measures, and they expressed the need to cut spending (congressional discretionary spending).....

All in all it was an ok speech, understandably it was strongest on foreign policy, it'll be interesting to see how it plays throughout the country.

Evenascence: Falling

Ok...well, I know this is a little late, but I've heard a few of the singles from this CD on the radio, etc..., but I never really listened to the whole CD. Well...I recently have had the chance to do so and I must say, I really really like it. Everyone should listen to the CD, even if you don't especially like rock, it is really great. And no, it's not just the general teenage emotionalism that I expected, I think it is just a really good CD with both great music and lyrics.

Why foreigners have such a hard time learning English

Came from this hilareous site

The previous post in action

Well, time for a little procrastination in the midst of trying to do my Trusts and Estates class. Anyways, for a short update..I finally got my schedule all worked out for the semester. I am taking the following classes:

Trusts and Estates
Criminal Procedure II
Immigration Law
Legal History: Amer. and English foundations of Amer. law
Legal skills/Ethics

I'm satisfied with my schedule and feeling generally somewhat content with school, I like my classes so far, and got my grades from last semester. They admittedly weren't stellar, but they were good and I am satisfied with them. On other fronts....I've been having a hard time keeping up with my friends lately. Living in the area makes it difficult because you always wanna keep up with everyone, which makes it hard, but I guess it's worth it, but I'm not purposefully ignoring anyone out there, I realize I really need to try harder to keep in touch with people. Aight..anyways, back to work. Peace out all.

Howard Dean finding religion??

Well.....Apparently Howard Dean has recently rediscovered his faith..Just in time for election season. According to dean he " professed to pray daily and declared he had read the Bible from cover-to-cover." However...When asked what his fav. book in the new testament was..he said Job. JOB!?! EVERYONE should know that Job is a book in the OLD TESTAMENT...some would say the First book of the old testament ever put to paper.. How could ANYONE think that JOB is in the NEW TESTAMENT? Anyone familiar with western literature/civilization should know that it is an old testament book...even those who do not regularly attend church....and yet Dean is trying to say that he is religious.

Look....if you have a relationship with God...that's great, but what Dean is doing here is just pure pandering..who's he trying to fool. He needs to decide where he stands and stick to his guns....this is the sorriest excuse for pandering that I've ever seen.

Schedule madness

ARGGHH!!!! I can't figure out what to do with my schedual this semester. So far I've been to or plan to go to the following classes this week
Sales
Criminal Procedure II
Labor Law
Admiralty
Legal History: foundations of Amer. Law
Trusts & Estates
Immigration Law

I can't figure out what to take! I just got an invitation to add for Trusts and Estates, so my schedual just keeps getting crazier and crazier. I really should take T & E b/c it's on the bar, as for the others, who knows. I'd kinda like to take CrimProII just to help compliment my crimpro I knowledge, as for the rest who knows. I wanna take em all b/c they all sound interesting, but there just isn't enough room in my schedual. I guess I'll just see which one seems most appealing.

The Lawyer's Prayer

Our Father, who shall be termed party of the first part,
Whose place of business is in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.

Thy Kingdom, pursuant to terms and conditions, come.
Thy will, dully uncontested, be done on earth,
in so far as existing statutes permit, as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts,
notwithstanding claims, liens and legal costs, as we,
who shall be termed party of the second part, forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation (i.e., sin. corruption, greed, gluttony, etc.),
but deliver us from evil, the nature of which shall be determined by the Court.
For Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and, pending appeal, the Glory forever.

Amen

Don't swallow fishing hooks

NOVI, Michigan (AP) -- It is a warning label that may seem perfectly logical -- to fish: A 5-inch fishing lure with three nasty steel hooks advises that it is "Harmful if swallowed."

(came from CNN website)
Who'd of thought...... I'm sure also everyone has seen the warnings on coffee cups warning that it is hot...I guess companies just wanna cover themselves against customer stupidity, a necessity in a litigous society like ours

stuff and etc...

Well...one more week left of winter break. I've got to finish writing this toast for my bro's wedding and can't seem to find a good quote to start it all off with. If anyone has any good ideas, let me know.

On another note, I have to drive up to charlottesville on Monday to do some research at the UVA law library for this paper I'm writing (the W&M library doesn't have what I need). In a weird way I'm kinda lookin forward to it. It'll at least give me a little bit of adventure on a somewhat monotanous break. This week is gonna be packed for me just because I've procrastinated everything for so long....I've got papers to work on, resumes to send out, rehersal dinner, have to go down and try on my tux. One of these days i really should wash the car, but that may or may not happen. I'm kinda ready to get back to the routine of school....now only if I had that student loan check. Oh well.
